2019 is coming to an end and will make way for the Climate Decade. I wonder how many more trees I can expect to see planted over the next few years? Politicians have promised that these ‘environmental superheroes’ will be increased in number. Interesting to think that if we supposedly plant a trillion trees then we could reduce two-thirds of all man-made carbon emissions in the atmosphere.
But as with many things, the reality is not so simple when maintenance, larger areas of darker land and an increase in volatile organic compounds made by trees are taken into account.
Unfortunately, trees are unlikely to be the guilt free solution to all our environmental ills.
